Apply for the COVID-19 Relief Fund for residential customers

The COVID-19 Relief Fund provides eligible residential customers who’ve stopped working due to COVID-19 with up to three months of bill credit. This is a temporary program available from April 1 to June 30, 2020.

To receive the credit, you need to submit an application and be approved for the program. If you are approved, the bill credit will be automatically applied to your account.

Before you apply, make sure that you meet the eligibility criteria. We recommend that you have your most recent BC Hydro bill on hand for reference while you apply. You can apply until June 30, 2020.

By submitting an application for the COVID-19 Relief Fund, I declare that the information, including the document proof, I have provided in this application is true, correct and complete to the best of my knowledge, and I am willing and able, upon request, to be contacted by BC Hydro or its authorized representative to audit or evaluate the COVID-19 Relief Fund or to provide any other documents that may be required by BC Hydro to verify the information provided in the application.

For the purposes of deciding the applicant's eligibility for the COVID-19 Grant and evaluating the COVID-19 Relief Fund for Residential Customers, BC Hydro collects, uses, and discloses the applicant's personal information in accordance with its mandate under the Hydro and Power Authority Act and under the authority of section 26(c) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. BC Hydro may use the applicant's information, including any personal information, as disclosed, as well as any data respecting billing, bill payments, energy use and consumption at the Residential Address, for the purposes of administrating and evaluating the COVID-19 Relief for Residential Customers. Additionally, BC Hydro may disclose the applicant's personal information to other provincial government agencies and institutions to verify any information that is provided as part of the application.
