Additional rebate eligibility notes:
Information in this column explains rebate eligibility. Heat pump rebates depend on utility service provider, heating type prior to installation, if the heat pump is being used in combination with a fossil fuel (natural gas, oil or propane) and the heat pump’s HSPF and SEER ratings. Qualifying HSPF and SEER rating include:

  • SEER > 16.00 & HSPF > 10.00 (region IV) or
  • SEER2 > 15.20 & HSPF2 > 8.50 (region IV)

The heat pump must have a variable speed compressor.

The heating capacity of the heat pump system at -5C is calculated using data published by AHRI (Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute). The datapoints used in the calculation are the tested heating capacity values at 47F (8.33 C) and 5F (-15C), derived from standardized tests that are independently measured and verified through the “AHRI Certified Product Performance” program. In the cases where the 5F test value is not available, the 17F test point is used in substitution, which may cause a small under-estimation of the calculated heating capacity at -5C.
