Ductless mini-split heat pump has one outdoor unit and one indoor unit (or head) that heats and cools an area in the home.
Ductless multi-split heat pump has one outdoor unit and more than one indoor unit (or head) that heats and cools areas or rooms in the home.
Central ducted heat pump (Tier 2) heat pump has one outdoor unit, with a variable speed inverter driven compressor, is centrally controlled through one thermostat and uses ducting to distribute heating and cooling throughout the home.
Central ducted heat pump (Tier 1) has one outdoor unit, is centrally controlled through one thermostat and uses ducting to distribute heating and cooling throughout the home.
