The BC Hydro Alliance of Energy Professionals, formerly known as the Power Smart Alliance, is a network of energy-efficiency trade professionals registered with BC Hydro.

Alliance members help business customers identify opportunities to save energy, install energy-efficient products, and receive incentives for efficiency upgrades. If you work in commercial and industrial settings, you must be an Alliance member to help your customers apply for incentives.

It's free to become a member of the BC Hydro Alliance of Energy Professionals (formerly Power Smart Alliance). Membership is open to contractors, consulting engineers, distributors, and other energy efficiency trade professionals working in commercial and industrial settings.

Affiliates are firms and/or individuals who have some participation and interest in energy efficiency projects, but aren't actively involved in the specific elements of our energy conservation programs.

To check if your company is already a member, email the Alliance.

Check the status of your membership application using our online system. Sign in to the online application system using your registered email account and password. You'll be able to view your application status and add a new application.

Please allow up to three weeks for your membership application to be processed. During high volume times, the application review period may be longer. We will contact your organization with questions about your application or when additional supporting documentation is required. To avoid delays, please promptly submit the documentation, as your application cannot be reviewed until it is received.

If you work with businesses, you can use our eligibility tool to determine the best BC Hydro program for your commercial or industrial customer. You'll need to have their 11-digit BC Hydro account number ready.

Alliance of Energy Professionals members (formerly Power Smart Alliance) working with commercial or industrial customers have an Alliance ID that your customers need in order to apply for incentives. If you forget your Alliance ID and/or password, email us.
