Pre-registration for the CleanBC Better Homes New Construction Program is temporarily closed as of September 24, 2021. Program registrations have been temporarily oversubscribed. Pre-registration forms submitted on or before this date will be processed in the order in which they were received, subject to funding availability.
If your project has been pre-approved, complete your project within 12 months of the date of your pre-approval confirmation email. If construction is complete, and you have your supporting documents ready, apply for rebates. You have 6 months from the date of your heat pump installation invoice or As-Built B.C.Energy Compliance Report, as applicable for your project, to submit your post-construction application.
Options to extend funding for the program are actively being considered. We will be able to share an update on the program’s status following the release of the Province of British Columbia’s Budget 2022. Please check betterhomesbc.ca/cleanbc-new-construction for updates on the status of the program.
The program is fully subscribed. Applicants can submit a pre-registration form to be added to the program waitlist. If a pre-approved program participant drops out or does not meet the program requirements, available funding will go to the next applicant on the waitlist.
The CleanBC Better Homes New Construction Program provides rebates for the construction of new, high-performance, electric homes. The program is funded by the Province of British Columbia and administered by BC Hydro. Program details can be found at betterhomesbc.ca.
