Home Renovation Rebate Program Eligibility Check

BC Hydro's Home Renovation Rebate program provides energy efficient upgrade rebates to customers who have high bills from heating their homes with electric heat. Homes heated by electricity use electric baseboards, heat pumps or electric furnaces to heat their home. BC Hydro rebate eligible upgrades include insulation, heat pumps, heat pump water heaters and windows and doors.

Eligible homes are single family dwelling, duplex, row home or townhouses and mobile homes on permanent foundations. Apartments and condos do not qualify for the program.

Before you complete any upgrades, let us check to see if your home meets the minimum electricity consumption to be eligible for rebates. Enter your home’s square footage and account number below.

By entering your BC Hydro account number, we'll look at the past three years electricity consumption at your home. The square footage of your home will be used to determine if your home has high electricity bills relative to the size of your home. Unsure of the square footage of your home, find out by check the BC Assessment property search.

Homes heated primarily by natural gas, oil or propane may be eligible for rebates funded from our partners, FortisBC or CleanBC. Visit FortisBC or CleanBC Better Homes to see available rebates.

Information

Unfortunately, you don't qualify for rebates funded by BC Hydro's Home Renovation Rebate program.

Rebates provided by BC Hydro to customers who heat their homes with electric baseboards, heat pumps or electric furnaces must meet a minimum electricity consumption per year. Rebates are targeted at customers who have the highest bills relative to the size of their home and provide a significant opportunity to save electricity. Based on the annual electricity used at this premise, we're not able to provide you a rebate.
