EV Charging Station Advisor

Condos, apartments and workplaces looking to install EV charging stations can get up to five hours of free advice and planning assistance from an expert in EV charging and equipment.

In an initial consultation, advisors will collect information about the location and the occupants' charging needs, and explain different charging options. This is a high-level review, not a substitute for an electrician or electrical engineer. Advisors can also work with stratas and building managers to help them understand EV charging quotes from contractors.

If you require more than five hours from an advisor, they can provide you with additional services at an hourly rate.

Request help from an EV Advisor via email here.

Single-family home, duplex or townhouse applicants who have questions about the program can email evchargerincentives@bchydro.com.

Charger rebate eligibility

Condos, apartments and workplaces

Condos, apartments and workplaces need to be pre-approved for a rebate. This includes building owners, managers, strata councils, B.C.-registered companies, or other building representatives who are responsible for an eligible condo, apartment, workplace, or building in B.C. Once pre-approved for an incentive, applicants must purchase and install eligible EV charging equipment, and complete applications within four months or by March 31, 2020, whichever comes first.

To be eligible for rebates, condo/apartment and workplace applicants must submit their pre-approval application on or after September 26, 2019 and receive approval from BC Hydro before installing chargers.

The installation must be done by a certified electrician. Consider working with an electrician who has completed the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Training program.
